My first baby steps into the world of blogging..

Well hello there!

I have had a few blogs bookmarked for a while now, for example Zoella and Cupcakes and Cashmere by Emily Schuman, checking every now and then for new posts. The idea has always appealed to me and now I have completed my first year of uni and exams are out of the way for a while it seems as though the time is right! I think my boyfriend must be sick to death of me chattering on about my latest purchases and my new favourites and I plan to use this blog to record these thoughts instead. So wish me luck and here goes nothing..

Sale shopping has always seemed a little too much like hard work to me, I like to enjoy my shopping trips and I never seemed to have much luck at unearthing the hidden gems amongst the rails. However this year I have found a few bits I am really pleased with;

This dress is by Fenn Wright Manson, not a brand I would usually go for, but I spotted it in John Lewis whilst with my Mum. My photos do not do it justice (I'm still learning this whole blogging thing!) but it is navy linen, fully lined and with a very pretty nude broderie anglaise button up collar. It is a size or two larger than I would normally wear, but due to the shift style it doesn't really matter, and it was very nicely reduced in price! I think I will get a lot of wear out of this one, dressing it up for something formal or even just with flip flops to go out for lunch,

Also in John Lewis I found these pretty jeweled pumps;

Now, I know many people are claiming that ballet pumps have had their moment and everybody should now be wearing brogues or something, but I spend all day on my feet at work and a pretty pair of pumps really is the best option. It is difficult to see in the picture, but these ones are peep-toed, which stops them from being too wintery, especially when paired with a nice bright nail varnish. I will take a photo whilst I am wearing them to give a better idea of how they look.

My final item was the most exciting one for me. I have lusted after them for some time, and when the Net-a-Porter sale launched I just couldn't resist;

I have watched as these Marc Jacobs wallets have metamorphosed from one colour to the next over a couple of seasons, and after a few really hard weeks of work I felt I could justify a little treat. The bright orange/red colour makes me smile and is easy to find in my handbag, and there is plenty of room for all the bits and pieces I seem to accumulate.

I wonder if anyone will read this? :)

Lots of love,
Em x
